


Each series follows a different group of school idols at various fictional high schools across the country, with each group starring a unique and colorful cast of girls. The franchise revolves around the concept of "school idols" note Not to be confused with a School Idol, ordinary schoolgirls in Japan who become amateur Idol Singers and bond together to make their hopes and dreams come true through heart, friendship, and music. The original concept is credited to Hajime Yatate (the collective pseudonym for Sunrise's animation staff) and Sakurako Kimino (best known as the creator of Strawberry Panic! and Sister Princess).

Love Live! (ラブライブ!) School idol project series (or simply Love Live!) is a Japanese multimedia project co-developed by ASCII Media Works' Dengeki G's magazine, music label Lantis and anime studio Sunrise that started in 2010.
